Robie (pronounced Roe-bee) aka “Short Temper” is a 25 year old hip hop artist/lyricist residing from Long Island, New York. Born and raised in Massapequa Park, music quickly became an integral part of life. Despite a deep appreciation for Rock and Roll, it was hip hop that created a burning passion for music within Robie aka “Short Temper.” Significant influences from Notorious B.I.G., Jay Z, 2Pac, Nas, Dr. Dre, Big Pun, and Eminem created a deep interest in the art of lyricism for Robie. Reciting lyrics from favorite artists seemed to be an ongoing obsession that never rested. At age 10, Robie taught himself how to “freestyle”, in attempt to emulate childhood idols. What started out as simplistic, one-syllable rhyme schemes, progressively turned into a complex assortment of lyrical expression. After years of being just a “freestyle rapper” who utilized hip hop solely as an instilment of fun or outlet of expression, it was decided that this would be a future career path for Robie aka “Short Temper.” In 2006, at age 18, the self-taught lyricist began structuring, writing, basic audio engineering, and recording full length songs. Since 2006, Robie has been on the grind making hits in the studio, performing, and networking all across New York, finding new ways to expand an already existing fan base. With little or no guidance along the way, Robie aka “Short Temper” has still managed to develope into one of the most unique and entertaining emcees involved in underground hip hop. Recently working with hip hop legend Erick Sermon has further strengthened Robie’s already existing skill-sets necessary for the limelight of mainstream entertainment. Reviving the roots of hip hop music by adding a “new school” swagger is an ongoing mission. With a constant growing fan base and an endless arsenal of witty wordplay, Robie aka “Short Temper” sets out to change the world of hip hop, one rhyme at a time.
